Framed St Thomas' Hospital Patient Admission Certificate for Rupture.
Framed print and handwritten certificate, dated 1797, written for John Jones for admission for rupture with St Thomas' Hospital crest to top left corner.
Admission charges are made at this date, as printed on certificate to the lower left. Charges are listed as 3s 6d, (three shillings and sixpence) for clean patients and 10s and 6d (ten shillings and sixpence) for Foule patients (patients admitted for treatment of syphilis). The certificate is signed by governor John Thornton and is undersigned without an allocated printed space to the lower right hand corner by Saml (Samuel) Williams.

Colour Aerial View of St Thomas' Hospital. Artists' impression of St Thomas' Hospital in the 1780s. Shows general layout including Guy's and Frederick blocks and the Church.
Picture shows the old Hospital's gateway and the five niched sculptures above it of the refounder Edward VI centred and flanked by four patients. One patient has a peg leg prosthetic, another has an arm supported by a neck sling. Two of the patient sculptures were displayed in St Thomas' Hospital, Lambeth. The print shows the aerial view of the squares. The statue of William Clayton can be seen in the furthest away known as Clayton Court.

The back cover is an advert for Beecham's Powders with a picture of a cricketer.

Framed, glazed black and white photographic head and shoulders portrait of a man with spectacles. Portrait has white background with chamfered corners. In fine, black wood frame.
Monson Hills, Senior was k nown to Guy's Hospital students as "the Guv'nor". Born in Suffolk 1792, he was appointed Cupper to Guy's Hospital 1823. Published a book on Cupping in 1832. Died in 1853. He named his eldest son Monson (Junior) who took over the position of Cupper at Guy's.

The eldest son of Monson Hills Snr, who succeeded him as cupper to Guys' in 1853. Another son, Dr William Hills, became medical superintendent of Norwich Hospital. Photograph or 'carte de visite' was taken in 1861 by Maull & Polyblank.

| First Aid Booklet
Small booklet titled: 'Prospectus for Evening School on First Aid Cases of Poisoning' published by London County Council, 1910
An item contained within midwife Ethel Williams' Midwifery case. Ethel trained at Guy's Hospital between 1906 and 1910, and items within the case were used at home births. The case and contents were included in the NHS 50 exhibition shown in 1998.

Eighteenth Century Print of Portrait and Biography of Richard Mead, 1795.
Matted print of 500 word biography of Dr. Richard Mead (1673-1754). Has portrait in medallion above a large block of text.
Dr Richard Mead was born in Stepney and studied medicine in Utrecht, Leyden and Padua. Published his "Mechanical Account of Poisons" in 1702. Dr Mead joined St Thomas' in 1703 and became a fellow of the Royal Society (F.R.S) in 1704.

Sent post-free from the proprieter for 15 or 35 stamps. Sold by all Druggists and Patent Medicine dealers in the United Kingdom." Shield shape in image holds current price of a box. For some complaints listed as "wind and pain in the stomach, sick headache, giddiness, fullness and swelling after meals.... scurvy...".

This cheaply produced publication was commonly printed and domestically owned from the 18th century onward, originally issued for actual midwife use. In the nineteenth century the quality of publishing improved and the book size shrank to a pocket size.
