Hidden for almost a century in the garret of St Thomas's Church, Britain’s only surviving 19th Century Operating Theatre was rediscovered in 1956, and has been open as a Museum since 1962.IMPORTANT INFORMATION:The Operating Theatre itself has been recently restored and is now open to the public again, with it's original Georgian plaster free of support frames for the first time since the late 1990's!The Old Operating Theatre Museum and Herb Garret is open,10.30am-5pm, 7 days a week.However, please note that there are still restoration works taking place on the building until late October 2008.NEW; The Mini Museum; a small object display detailing phases in the life of St Thomas' Church, as revealed during the restoration of the building.
